In anticipation of\u00a0Avengers: Infinity War<\/strong>, which hits theaters on April 27, the Walt Disney Company announced today\u00a0Marvel: The Universe Unites<\/strong>, a charity campaign of epic proportions bringing together the cast of\u00a0Marvel\u00a0Studios’ next big blockbuster to support children’s charities through funds raised from the release of the latest line in action figures and toys from the upcoming film.<\/p>\n

This week-long event seeks to bring the stars together in a series of #HeroActs and social media challenges to raise funds and awareness for foundations that support children and families impacted by serious illness.<\/p>\n

The kick-off with stars\u00a0Sebastian Stan, Karen Gillan<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Paul Bettany<\/strong>\u00a0 was this morning during Good Morning America.<\/p>\n

\"HeroActs\"<\/p>\n

Members of the cast have already accepted the challenge,\u00a0including Mark Ruffalo, Dave Bautista and Don Cheadle\u00a0among others expected to share the initiative on social media! When everyone’s\u00a0collective posts hit a million likes, they will unlock a $250,000 US donation to Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation\u00ae from\u00a0Marvel.<\/p>\n

Here’s a preview of the action figures and toys the cast will be revealing this week:<\/p>\n

More about the campaign<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis movie has one of the greatest ensemble casts of all time, and we are challenging them to use their collective might to benefit children\u2019s charities,\u201d said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. \u201cWe\u2019re kicking off by inviting some of the world\u2019s biggest stars to get creative on social media to support Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation, a charity that works to bring joy and comfort to hospitalized children and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of\u00a0Marvel\u00a0Studios: Hero Acts, a charitable initiative launched in 2016, some members of the cast of\u00a0Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>\u00a0will receive a special toy care package filled with new products celebrating their\u00a0Marvel character to be donated to children\u2019s hospitals.<\/p>\n

Their mission? To take a creative picture or video to reveal the new toys to fans and post it to their Facebook, Instagram or Twitter channels using #HeroActs. When their collective posts hit a million likes, they will unlock a $250,000 US donation to Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation\u00ae from\u00a0Marvel.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a\u00a0Marvel\u00a0Super Hero gives us a powerful platform to directly influence positive change. Giving back to kids is the most impactful role you can play,\u201d comments\u00a0Marvel\u00a0Studios\u2019\u00a0Black Panther<\/em>\u00a0star, Chadwick Boseman. \u201cMarvel: The Universe Unites and #HeroActs is just a fun way to support a noble cause while entertaining kids and fans around the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marvel\u00a0partners are also supporting the cause with their own #HeroActs in support of children\u2019s charities. As part of the week\u2019s events, Hasbro will donate $1 million US worth of cash and products to Give Kids The World, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children with critical illnesses and their families by providing them with an unforgettable trip which includes a visit to their village in Central Florida and access to Walt Disney World Resort.<\/p>\n

Funko, known for their pop culture collectibles, will make a $1 million US toy donation to Starlight as part of theMarvel: The Universe Unites campaign.<\/p>\n

Starting\u00a0March 3, new\u00a0Marvel\u00a0Studios\u2019\u00a0Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>\u00a0products will be included in the\u00a0Marvel: The Universe Unites Amazon Wish List, enabling consumers to send toys directly to Starlight.<\/p>\n

Marvel: The Universe Unites will\u00a0culminate the weekend of March 3 when shopDisney.com and Disney stores in the U.S. will donate 10% of sales of all\u00a0Marvel\u00a0products made between March 3-4, 2018 (up to $50,000) to Make-A-Wish\u00ae to help grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
