{"id":3629,"date":"2018-04-18T09:00:29","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T16:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/janaoncamera.com\/?p=3629"},"modified":"2018-04-25T08:36:29","modified_gmt":"2018-04-25T15:36:29","slug":"21st-century-fox-calls-for-applications-for-fox-directors-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/janaoncamera.com\/br\/21st-century-fox-calls-for-applications-for-fox-directors-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"21ST CENTURY FOX Calls for Applications for FOX DIRECTORS LAB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>21<sup>st<\/sup> Century Fox Global Inclusion\u00a0has issued a call for applications to its 2018 <strong>Fox Directors Lab<\/strong>, a program designed to identify and foster the next generation of directing talent, as well as boost director diversity industrywide.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions from interested candidates will be accepted between April 23 thru May 14 for consideration by a jury of creative executives spanning a variety of Fox companies, including 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Century Fox Television, Fox Broadcasting Company, FX, Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions. As many as seven directing fellows will be selected by early summer, with the program kicking off July 30.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInclusion on all levels is a central focus to all of our programs,\u201d\u00a0said MyKhanh Shelton, Senior Vice President, Global Inclusion, 21st Century Fox.\u00a0\u201cFox Directors Lab continues that commitment by providing promising future directors with access, training and opportunity to showcase their creative and unique points of view behind the camera. Our goal is to groom these aspiring directors for directing assignments, both on the shows that we produce and others across the business. Boosting director diversity industry-wide is a \u2018win\u2019 not just for us, but for audiences, who have demonstrated they are hungry for inclusive storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The participants will take part in a series of\u00a0master classes,\u00a0led by industry leaders who will offer\u00a0mentorship, coaching and professional development. Each directing fellow also will be assigned the opportunity to shadow a director on a series for the duration of an episode, from pre-production to filming to post-production.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must submit two to three samples of work from the categories of Narrative or Documentary Feature, Narrative or Documentary Short and Commercial\/PSA\/Music Video.\u00a0They also must submit two letters of recommendation.
