The <\/span>2022 Sundance Film Festival<\/span><\/em> in Park City, Utah, reached its third day of virtual movie premieres and what a wild ride it was. Let\u2019s just say I was so far away from being ready for everything I would be watching.<\/span><\/p>\n

From <\/span>NANNY <\/b>to <\/span>GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE <\/b>and <\/span>RESURRECTION<\/b>, every single one of these movies were a total blast, a true once-in-a-life-time experience, and the kind of entertainment that makes participating in such a festival worth every penny.<\/span><\/p>\n

So here\u2019s my little recap of Day 3, or as I\u2019m calling it right now, my favorite day so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

NANNY<\/b> (Director: Nikyatu Jusu)<\/span><\/p>\n

Nikyatu Jusu\u2019s <\/span>NANNY<\/b> is more than a movie, it is an entire cinematographic experience – and by far my favorite movie out of Sundance. It tells the story of an immigrant Senegalese woman named Aisha (Anna Diop) who\u2019s hired as a nanny for the only child of a rich New York family, and who\u2019s being haunted by visions and dreams she cannot understand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anna Diop gives a breathtaking, absolutely spellbinding and award-worthy performance as Aisha, while Jusu\u2019s cinematography, use of light and African culture creates one of the most memorable stories you\u2019ll see this year. <\/span>NANNY <\/b>is an absolute must watch.<\/span><\/p>\n

GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE<\/b> (Director: Sophie Hyde)<\/span><\/p>\n

Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack star in this absurdly sweet and sexy romantic comedy about a middle-age woman finally breaking free from shame and years of sexual discontentment. With the exception of a handful of scenes, most of the movie happens inside a hotel room, however it does give apple space and time for the characters to grow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
