In celebration of the release of Mary Poppins Returns on Digital 4K Ultra HD™, HD and Movies Anywhere on March 12 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD on March 19, Disney invited me to attend a very special event.

We had the opportunity to talk with Academy Award winner Rob Marshall who spoke about how it was to bring this classic character to the big screen again and to introduce to a new generation. But Marshall had a very special guest to all the attendees, the Angela-Lansbury-734x488legendary British actress Angela Lansbury, who portrayed the Balloon Lady in the film (the scene is towards the end of the movie)! Everyone was surprised and got emotional with her presence.

During the interview, both shared the magic of Mary Poppins and how she connects with the children. “There’s nothing like magic, believe me,” shared Lansbury. Marshall also shared about how iconic Angela Lansbury is. “She is my hero and there’s no one like her. The word original is thrown around way too much, but this woman is an original. Period.”
