Production Begins On Clint Eastwood’s THE 15:17 TO PARIS

Warner Bros LOgoProduction is beginning this week for Clint Eastwood’s The 15:17 to Paris as Warner Bros. and Village Roadshows pictures announced yesterday. The film tells the real-life story of three men whose brave act turned them into heroes during a high-speed railway ride.

In the early evening of August 21, 2015, the world watched in stunned silence as the media reported a thwarted terrorist attack on Thalys train #9364 bound for Paris – an attempt prevented by three courageous young Americans traveling through Europe. The 15:17 to Paris follows the course of the friends’ lives, from the struggles of childhood through finding their footing in life, to the series of unlikely events leading up to the attack. Throughout the harrowing ordeal, their friendship never wavers, making it their greatest weapon and allowing them to save the lives of the more than 500 passengers on board.

The heroic trio is comprised of Anthony Sadler, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, and U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Spencer Stone, who play themselves in the film. Also starring are Jenna Fischer; Judy Greer, and Ray Corasani.

Talented director Clint Eastwood directs from a screenplay by Dorothy Blyskal, based on the book The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone and Jeffrey E. Stern. Eastwood also produces the film, along with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier. The film’s executive producer is Bruce Berman.

THE DUNKIRK VR EXPERIENCE

SAVE EVERY BREATH: THE DUNKIRK VR EXPERIENCE got the breath on July 7!!!

Warner Bros. Pictures, in partnership with Microsoft, Intel and Dell, has created Save Every Breath: The Dunkirk VR Experience (VRE), and is available on multiple virtual reality platforms, at dunkirkmovie.com/vr

The pulse-pounding 360-degree short film immerses the viewer in the world of Christopher Nolan’s epic action thriller DUNKIRK. Through three tightly woven sequences, the VRE offers a tantalizing taste of the much-anticipated film, in which 400,000 Allied soldiers are trapped on the beach of Dunkirk, France, with their backs to the sea as the enemy closes in.

Created by Practical Magic, the VRE features specially created original content that thrusts viewers into each of the movie’s three key perspectives -land, sea and air – where they experience firsthand the race against time to survive under enemy fire. The twisting time frames of the scenes mirror the non-linear structure of the circuitous time scales in Nolan’s movie.

The virtual reality experience takes your breath away, submerging you underwater in the channel, surrounded by danger; then taking you to the skies, piloting an RAF Spitfire; and finally onto the beach, one of hundreds of thousands of trapped Allied soldiers awaiting their fate.

Nolan directed DUNKIRK from his own original screenplay, utilizing a mixture of IMAX® and 65mm film to bring the story to the screen. DUNKIRK opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy and Barry Keoghan, with Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Tom Hardy. Produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas, with Jake Myers serving as executive producer.

DUNKIRK was filmed on location in France, Holland, the UK and Los Angeles. Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Syncopy Production a film by Christopher Nolan, DUNKIRK.

DUNKIRK opens in conventional theatres and IMAX® on July 21.

J.K. ROWLING’S NEW ADVENTURE IS UNDERWAY

Fantastic-Beasts-and-Where-to-Find-Them-Poster-VillainWarner Bros Studios released today the official start of production for the second installment of the FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM series, a new adventure following the main cast and filmmakers from the first of the film series.

Principal photography started on July 3, on an all new adventure set in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, the second of five films in the series that began with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The as-yet-untitled film is being directed by David Yates.

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne stars once more as wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander; alongside Katherine Waterston as Auror Tina Goldstein; Alison Sudol as her sister, Queenie Goldstein; and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, the only No-Maj in the foursome. Oscar nominee Johnny Depp, who was revealed as Gellert Grindelwald, stars as the powerful Dark wizard in the film. Oscar nominee Jude Law on the role of Albus Dumbledore – one of J.K. Rowling’s most beloved characters – decades before he becomes Headmaster at Hogwarts. Credence, whose fate was unknown at the end of the first film, makes a mysterious return, played again by Ezra Miller. Zoë Kravitz plays Leta Lestrange, who was glimpsed in a photo as a woman from Newt’s past; Callum Turner is the famed Theseus Scamander, a war hero and Auror, who also happens to be Newt’s older brother; and Claudia Kim plays a young woman we first meet as a featured attraction at a wizarding circus.

J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

The film expands the wizarding world, moving from New York to London and on to Paris. There are also some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of the books and film series.

David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram are producing the film, with Tim Lewis, Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen serving as executive producers.

The new adventure is being filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, which has been the cinematic home of the Wizarding World since the first “Harry Potter” film.

Slated for release on November 16, 2018, the film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
