One of the best part of being a mom is hanging out with other moms. When we come together, the connection is immediate and makes motherhood an easy task! Whether you are a working mom (like me), stay at home mom, adoptive mom, new mom, foster mom, seasoned mom… there are always something that can connect us all.

I was recently invited by CBS to attend a roundtable interview with two of the nicest moms that are on TV right now: Amber Stevens West and Tichina Arnold! Both actresses are on HAPPY TOGETHER and THE NEIGHBORHOOD, respectively, on CBS, every Monday evening!

Spending time and talking to them, it seems easy to work on a TV show and have a life outside set. Amber, who plays Claire in HAPPY TOGETHER, is a brand-new mom to a two-month-old daughter, Ava. On the other hand, Tichina, who portrays Tina in THE NEIGHBORHOOD, has more experience, she has 14-year-old daughter, Alijah.

Tichina also gave us some sweet words when asked about that “guilty feeling” we have when you are a working mom, she said “never feel bad at being the best mom that you can be.  You are only one person.  You can only do your best.  There is no normal.  Normal is what we make it and what we say it should be and not to feel bad about the choices that you make because you’re a mother and are doing the best that you can.”

According to Tichina, it takes a village to raise a kid: “believes that as moms we need to stop placing pressures on ourselves and we must believe that we’re doing the very best that we possibly can for ourselves and families. We need to release the guilt, shame, and unrealistic expectations and embrace our lives for what it is. That life, however messy it is, it’s beautiful, welcome it and embrace it. Build your tribe and allow the help, it takes a village to raise a child and help keep your sh*t together.”

THE NEIGHBORHOOD stars Cedric the Entertainer in a comedy about what happens when the friendliest guy in the Midwest moves his family to a neighborhood in Los Angeles where not everyone looks like him or appreciates his extreme neighborliness.
