On Sunday, March 11th, STARZ debuted new original Latinx series VIDA to a packed Vimeo theater with a world premiere screening of the first two episodes and Q&A with the cast and executive producer Tanya Saracho. VIDA was chosen as an Official Episodic Selection at this year’s SXSW festival. The series premieres on STARZ on Sunday, May 6th.
VIDA is a half-hour series focusing on two Mexican-American sisters from the Eastside of Los Angeles who couldn’t be more different or distanced from each other. Circumstances force them to return to their old neighborhood, where they are confronted by the past and surprising truth about their mother’s identity.
The world premiere concluded a weekend of celebrations as the cast and crew of VIDA hosted a “Sip and See” cocktail party at the STARZ Sensory House on Saturday, March 10th. Guests enjoyed an exclusive happy hour with curated cocktails, custom perfumes, wine tasting and other activities celebrating the STARZ original series. Executive Producer Tanya Saracho attended as well as cast including Melissa Barrera, Mishel Prada, Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda, and Maria Elena Laas.
