
Columbia Pictures’ VEMON
In celebration of the digital and the 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack, Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD releases of VENOM, on December 11 and December 18, respectively, I had the opportunity to speak with Todd McFarlane, who co-created Venom for Marvel Comics in the early 1980s, alongside with comic book writer David Michelinie. The character became famous around 1988, but Venom had his first appearance in Spider-Man 3 (2007), directed by Sam Raimi.
It took Sony Pictures more than 10 years to develop a movie just for him, which had a successful box office, even though the critics and reviews were negative, VENOM is the top 5 highest grossing films of this year (2018).
