Netflix announced today, March 26, that it will renew Sony Pictures Television’s comedy One Day at a Time for a third season. The rebooted Norman Lear comedy will return for another 13 episodes in 2019.
Coming back to this new season, Norman Lear, as well as co-creators/co-showrunners Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce, and fellow executive producers Michael Garcia and Brent Miller will all return for the Latino-themed take on the 1970s comedy with the same name.
The series stars, and also returning, Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Todd Grinnell, and Stephen Tobolowsky. In a reimagining of the TV classic, a newly single Latinx mother, Cuban descendants, raises her teen daughter and tween son with the “help” of her old-school mom.
