Ryan White Chatted About His New Documentary “Ask Dr. Ruth” – EXCLUSIVE

Ask Dr. Ruth chronicles the incredible life of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a Holocaust survivor who became America’s most famous sex therapist. With her diminutive frame, thick German accent, and uninhibited approach to sex therapy and education, Dr. Ruth transformed the conversation around sexuality. As she approaches her 90th birthday and shows no signs of slowing down, Dr. Ruth revisits her painful past and unlikely path to a career at the forefront of the sexual revolution.

The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is directed by Ryan White, who is responsible for the disturbing Netflix’s series The Keepers and The Case Against 8.

Ask Dr. Ruth will be available in select theaters starting May 3rd and available exclusively on Hulu starting June 1st.

For this release, I had the opportunity to ASK director Ryan White about the challenges, on doing a documentary about Dr. Ruth, the use of animation in some parts, and more.
