Starz’s new drama VIDA talks about a lot of issues such as sexual identity, gentrification, immigration, family drama, and more. The series sets in East Los Angeles and follows the story of two Latina sisters who return home and to their old neighborhood, after the passing of their mom.

Showrunner and creator Tanya Saracho sat down with some fellow journalists and myself to discuss her new show, the importance to have a series like this on air, and much more.

VIDA is different, fresh and modern. VIDA premieres on Sunday, May 6 at 8:30pm ET/PT on STARZ.
