XFINITY OFFERS MORE SPANISH-LANGUAGE CONTENT IN FLORIDA

Comcast announced last week it has significantly expanded its content offerings for Latino customers in Florida. These enhancements complement the already rich lineup of more than 50 channels available in Spanish to Comcast customers across the state.

The Latino or Spanish-speaking community in Florida, which is in large part from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and various countries from throughout South America, represents 22 percent of the state’s population. The audience will benefit from a significant increase in High Definition (HD) content with more than ten new channels, as well as a selection of Standard Definition (SD) channels never available before. Here in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Comcast will be adding America Teve (HD) and Univision Deportes (HD and SD).

Tom Zemaitis, Comcast’s Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Florida said: “our Latino customers and communities are of great importance to Comcast and we consistently introduce new channels and revamp lineups across our service areas to make sure we’re meeting their changing needs.” And he added that “our commitment is to deliver the programming and content options that our customers value the most. We are thrilled to now offer even more new channels and HD content options that truly reflect the interests of Florida’s Hispanic consumers.”

The State of Florida is home to eight of the 35 metropolitan areas with the highest Latino presence in the country, including Miami/Hialeah in seventh place with 65.7 percent of residents of Hispanic origin; Orlando at position #18; and Tampa/St. Petersburg ranked 22nd, followed by Fort Lauderdale.
